Last weekend, Rowdy Red came to visit the homestead. Now I have been dandy friends with Rowdy for about 7 years now, for her to just show up at the homestead out of the blue; well, that was completely out of character for her. Instantly I knew she have a mischievous plan up her sleeve. (And little did I know at the time, I was right.) You see, last weekend our local college rodeo team was hosting there annual Stampede Rodeo at the fairgrounds. Normally, I would have dusted off my boots and spurs, twirled my cowboy hat in the air and whooped and hollered bubbling with excitement. However, considering this year that the central United States was being hit by a torrential monsoon during the rodeo, I was not too thrilled to be going to a rodeo.
But I did what any respectable farmers wife/ex-rodeo circuit rider would do, I trudged out to the Stampede to cheer on all of the rodeo riders. This picture does the conditions no justice, the arena was a soupy, slushy, mess. The weather conditions did not stop a single contestant from participating, they "cowboy up" and got the job done. You all ROCK...
Sincerely,
Farming Fabulously
