For past 2 years, my grandmother has been sending HH these packages that were wrapped tightly with Styrofoam. Now she claimed, that he would absolutely love this John Deere Village that she had found. I personally thought to myself, "Ok granny, HH is not one that appreciates the dainty things in life, unless it has an engine in it, there is no way that he would even look twice at this stuff". But I kept mum, continually accumulating these packages. Never opening them, because frankly our home at the time could not comfortably fit anything else it in. So I would naturally store them with all of our wedding present, in the basement of my in-laws homestead.
Since this is our first Christmas out at the farmstead, I was able to unveil the Styrofoam packages. And to my amazement, HH actually took notice. Infact, all of the male gender found this village to be quite fascinating (Not a one noticing the glowing elegant Christmas tree, however). The FB's congregated around this microminiature township, picking up even the tiniest of tractors, examining the carts and even observing the quilts hanging in the windows of the JD Bed & Breakfast. This wee little village has turned into quite the conversation piece as well. Even our neighbors (a certain journalist perhaps?), now decrease their speed when approaching the homestead, attempting to get a peek at this miraculous little village or maybe they slow down because something is blocking the road, either way. The little Nativity is a brilliant site.
