Three months ago today Baby D finally decided to grace us with his presence. I remember it like it was just yesterday....
On September 2 I had a doctors appointment, they wanted to see how I was progressing, if Baby D was deciding to wonder down the birth canal yet? If you recall, at this point Baby D was already alittle over a week late. My darling mid-wife did a thorough exam and thought with in the next few days he may come. But if he hadn't arrived by September 6 she was going to advise a C-section in fear that Baby D would be too much for my 5'3" frame to handle. As crazy as it sounds, I wanted to wait as long as I could before having her induce labor. I was bound and determined that I wanted Baby D to pick his birthday. And considering my pregnancy was an extremely pleasant one, I wanted to keep my tiny companion content as long as possible?
That night at around 10:30, I awoke with some discomforting pains in my lower back. I attempted to "walk them off", but was unsuccessful. Having never felt a contraction and apparently completely smitten to the fact that my labor was actually beginning to take place. I told HH we better go to the hospital just in case this is the real deal. Now keep in mind I am a farmers wife so of course the first thing HH say's is "Ok, go grab your bag and I will go put up all of the farm equipment then we can go". Now looking back at that moment, he should be thanking me for not taking his life at that point and driving myself to the emergency room. But instead, I simply paced back and forth until all of the equipment was parked accordingly.
Too Be Continued......
Sincerely,
Farming Fabulously
